What is it that causes us to stand subornly firm against the odds, to love with all our hearts, to seek good where evil has been declared, to join the song when we can't sing, to seek truth in all creation, to turn our back on fear and face the light, to do what is right when it counts the most, to make music out of jumbled sound, to bring harmony to the world around us, to say "I WILL" and not "I'll try," to smile at the devil himself and give him a hug, and to do it all this and more as if we did it everyday? Is it the human spirit? I say nay, for I do not believe in spirits and what is so human about any of these feats? It is the essence of life as we, you and I, were meant to live it. Each man has a moment of greatness. That moment when he rises to the ocassion above the ashes and is for that one brief moment the pheonix, the dirt that has become divine. And do we know who will be next among us to burn with the light of God? It would be absurd to suppose it would be you or me. But supose it is you, who are the next choosen vessle of greatness, you who sit in a pit of despair and wallow in self pitty. Is that anyway to treat the greatest among men? Be ready! If you are prepared the light will burn within you for a life time rather than carry you the moment!
