To search this database for a particular star, type the name of its identifier below. Identifiers included in this database are HR numbers, HD numbers, BD numbers, and HIP numbers, as well as common names like Bayer letters and Flamsteed numbers. Some alternate names, such as variable star names, have been included where appropriate. For a more specific search, a particular data subset may be specified.

NOTE: Identifiers for stars in this database conform to SIMBAD naming conventions. Thus, Bayer letters are denoted by a three letter designation of the greek symbol followed by a similar three letter designation of the constellation (usually capitalized). For multiple component systems, an identifier may contain a numerical superscript to the Bayer letter. In this case, the superscript is denoted by a two digit numeral immediately following the greek letter designation (no space).

For a more complete description of the system of identifiers used to name celestial objects, see SIMBAD's Dictionary of Nomenclature.
